Many young drivers are interested in modifying their vehicle, perhaps to look like the vehicles from their favourite films or computer games. And though we do not agree that they look good at all, it’s important to understand the demand.
Young drivers are stuck with some of the most severe insurance premiums, and modifying a vehicle only increases that amount, quite often significantly, because of the statistics for modified cars causing accidents. So is it really worth it?
Adding a noisy exhaust, blacked out windows, bigger rims and external decals can make your vehicle look ‘cool’, but it can make your car more difficult to sell, and increase your insurance. If you fail to tell insurance companies about any modifications, you can end up with invalid insurance, so before you star car modification, think about the real cost.
